Although the sun is shining brightly it is bitterly cold and the thermometer is showing minus four degrees and this article is gloomy.
There are few birds coming onto the feeders and into the garden. Six or seven Sparrows also the Blackbirds, a few Blue and Great Tits, three Collared Doves and the Robin but little else.
The Hedgehogs have hibernated so the only wildlife we are seeing are the Foxes that visit us at night.
Reading the reports from the Butterfly people last year was again a poor year for numbers of Butterflies seen. It’s such a shame as so many people and organisations put so much time and effort into helping create good habitats and conditions to help nature. Let’s all hope that 2017 will be a far better year for all of nature.
