Hello Folks
Will it be an Indian Summer or not?
As I am writing this article the sun is shining and there is not a cloud in the sky, but it is getting chilly in the morning.
There are still young birds coming in to fee, mainly Sparrows and Goldies and a few starlings but most of the adults have disappeared for the Moult and a new set of feathers, even the pigeons have gone, hooray!
It’s a poor year for butterflies, I have not seen one for nearly a week. This year’s sightings have been sparse, yet my daughter, in Sheering, has had many and they are still coming in.
We are still getting the Hedgehogs feeding at night, mostly the medium sized pair. I have not seen the smaller on for a while and I saw the big one last night.
My neighbour told me that a large Hedgehog came into our outhouse the other night and ate up all the cat food, then got into the piece of rolled up carpet and went to sleep. What a cheek!
More soon… Pee Jay
