It was a bitterly cold Sunday afternoon when a small group of us gathered at Sawbridgeworth station and got the train to Cambridge. Having spent a few hours in Starbucks and Café Nero downing coffee and hot chocolate we waited until dark and then made our way to the Market Square. At around 5:30pm Great St. Mary’s church became illuminated with ever changing coloured lighting, and the nearby Kings College Chapel and Senate House received fantastic light shows on their facades. Many photos were taken before heading home again and thawing out. Nevertheless, it was a worthwhile trip. Our Spring Session got underway on 16 February with nearly the whole Club turning out. On Saturday 18 February we had our Annual Lunch celebrating the Club’s sixth year in existence. Our sincere thanks go to Fiona, the Hailey Centre Chef, and her team of volunteers for “doing us proud”.
New Club Members are always welcome at all levels so if you, or someone you know, is interested in joining us please contact Sue in the office on 01279 721221.
