SAWBRIDGEWORTH CAMERA CLUB
The majority of Club members, together with some spouses, have saved their pennies for a day out at Newmarket Races on Saturday 1st October.
Newmarket has been dubbed “The Home of Horseracing” and both the National Stud and The National Horseracing Museum can be found there. Unfortunately, on this occasion we will be unable to visit either of them due to a lack of time. The heritage of the Newmarket Races can be traced back to the 1600’s and it is Charles II who is renowned for advancing the sport in a manner which capitalised on the growing popularity in those days of “laying a wager”. In 1939, The Rowley Mile course became an official RAF Bomber Command airbase. Today, the venue is the largest in England and boasts 38 meetings a year. Some 3,000 horses are in training in the vicinity of this unique racing town. We hope the day will underline the important, and growing, social side of our Club.
New Club Members are always welcome at all levels so if you, or someone you know, is interested in joining us please contact Sue in the office on 01279 721221.

Very best wishes,
